It is with profound sorrow and yet grateful hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Outlaw Corbett, who departed this life on June 17th, 2026. Born on September 24th, 1946, in Sumter, SC, Patricia spent her most memorable years in Elgin, South Carolina, where she was affectionately known as the "Keeper of the Gate" at the family homeplace. 

Patricia led a fulfilling life as a cashier in the retail industry and seamstress in manufacturing. A lover of sports, Patricia had a deep fondness for baseball, and watching her granddaughter and great-granddaughter, play softball was her greatest joy. Her love for crocheting also gave her a sense of peace and contentment, and her creations are cherished keepsakes for her loved ones.

She is survived by her children,  Lynn Corbett of Elgin, Sandra Corbett of Camden, and James Corbett (Sabrina) of Elgin; brother, Joseph Outlaw (Betty); sisters, Sylvia Melton and Dawn Outlaw; grandchildren, Shawn Corbett (Martha), Kelly C. Smith (Dustin), James Corbett, Jr. (Melissa) Matthew Corbett (Katelynn), and Christy Hurst; 20 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Horace Benson Corbett; father and mother, James Wesley "J.W." Outlaw and Nora Grooms Outlaw; sister, Lynda Outlaw Theobald; and brother, James Wesley Outlaw, Jr.. 

A memorial service honoring Patricia's life will be held on Wednesday, 1st July 2026, at 4:00pm at Powers Funeral Home, located at 832 Ridgeway Road, Lugoff, South Carolina, 29078. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
