After a long illness, Charles Garry Bowen went home to be with his Heavenly Father, family and friends on Tuesday, June 02, 2026.

Garry was born in Lugoff and graduated from Lugoff-Elgin High School. In his younger years he was employed as a Security Guard for various companies in Lugoff, Camden, and Columbia. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and traveling to the beach and mountains with his family. He had an unconditional love for his sister, Susan, and she for him. He loved to laugh, joke, and had an incredible wit and sense of humor.  He enjoyed all types of music especially Johnny Cash. Wayfaring Stranger was his favorite tune. Most of all he loved the Lord and was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.  He remained steadfast in his faith throughout his illness. He was more than a Conqueror to the very end.

Garry is survived by his Father Charles Spencer Bowen and Sister Susan Myers of Lugoff. He is predeceased by his Mother Mary Elizabeth Bowen and a Brother Baby Bowen.

A Celebration of Life and Graveside Service will be held at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery on Friday June 05, 2026 from 4:30-5:30 PM with funeral services beginning at 6:00 PM officiated by Reverend Eric Boone. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to the Pine Grove Baptist Church Building Fund.

Garry was a wonderful, sweet Brother and Son, and he will be missed so very much. Fly high over Jordan my Brother, I'll see you on the other side.
