With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of a remarkable woman, Vickie Regina Nalley Smith. Born on October 4, 1956, in Toccoa, Georgia, Vickie illuminated many lives with her vibrant spirit and unwavering love. Her journey on this earthly plane came to a peaceful close on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.

Vickie, a beacon of strength and compassion, dedicated her life to the service of others. Her tireless dedication as a homemaker created a nurturing haven for her loved ones, a testament to her boundless love and selflessness. Vickie's devotion extended to her community, where she served as a Cub Master for Pack 348 for six years. Her involvement in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints - Camden Ward further showcased her unwavering faith and commitment to service. 

Married on August 3, 1975, Vickie and her beloved husband, Clyde Haskell Smith, created a beautiful life together. Their love story was one of mutual respect, deep affection, and enduring companionship. Vickie was preceded in death by her father, Doyle Nalley, and mother, Edna Francis Lathan Julian. 

Surviving are her husband Clyde Smith; sons, Thomas A. Smith (Christine) of North, S.C., Micheal D. Smith of Summerville, S.C., and William E. Smith (Erica) of Easley, S.C.; and 7 grandchildren.

A funeral service honoring Vickie's life will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 10:30 am at Powers Funeral Home, 832 Ridgeway Road, Lugoff, SC  29078. A private family burial will be held in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 14, 2026 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home.
