Randolph Payne Obituary

Randolph G. Payne, known as "Randy", "Grandpa", or "Papa" passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at his home. Born in Westville, he was a son of the late Teddy and Minnie Lee Payne. Randy attended House of Prayer with Open Arms Church. He served in the US Army and after his service worked a variety of different jobs. Randy enjoyed farming and fishing,  and he was a jack of all trades, but a master of none.


Surviving are his daughter, Lanndie Ealy; son, Tony Payne; grandchildren, Jacob Allen Ealy, Jazmine Zimmer-Payne, Guy Barstow, Sarah McNeely, Eddy Schafer, Becky Schafer, Chris Schafer and Andy Schafer; and sisters, Betty Hornsby and Joyce McDougal. He was predeceased by his wife Teresa Davis Payne, Mary Ellen Payne, and Mary Ann Payne; and siblings, Vonnie Cole, Mary Payne, James Payne, Jesse Payne, and Raymond Payne.


A funeral service will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at House of Prayer with Open Arms Church with burial to follow in Boonetown Cemetery. The Rev. Donnie Barrett will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9-10 am at the church.
