A long long time ago (June 11, 1978) in a galaxy far far away (Honolulu, HI) Kaipo Kalani Panailike Fuentes, known affectionately as Jacob to his friends and loved ones, was born to Thomas Rose and Paulette Young. Kaipo lived life as dynamic and vibrant as the Star Wars universe he so passionately adored. 

Kaipo was a man of many talents and interests. When he wasn't expertly maneuvering heavy machinery, he could be found fine-tuning his car audio system to achieve that perfect, earth-shaking bass or broadening his understanding of his cherished Hawaiian culture. He was a gifted artist, often conjuring up fantastical illustrations of heroic Jedis and fearsome Sith Lords. Many still remember him fondly for his unforgettable Star Wars-themed parties, where his love for George Lucas' epic space opera truly shone. He was a firm believer that "the force is strong with this one," and he carried that strength and determination throughout his life.

Kaipo is survived by his daughters, Tatiyana Fuentes, Emarie Fuentes; son, Lariyah Fuentes (Carley); father, Thomas Rose (Laura); his mother, Paulette Young; grandchildren, Anaise, Kaleo, Kioni, Kure, Kavanu, Kaimana, Keawé, Jace, J'aKobe, J'LeAni; and siblings, Leann Rose (Wade), Cassidy Rose Brazell (Cass), Tommy Rose (Sam); his "White Kids", Jonathan Giddens, Sean Schweickert, Kali Schweickert ; and Jonathan's daughter, Londyn Jackson .  The force will undoubtedly continue to flow through them, guided by their father's enduring spirit. As we remember Kaipo, we are reminded of this quote from the Star Wars saga, "No one's ever really gone."
