Mary Evelyn McCaskill, 91 passed away Thursday, May 7, 2026 peacefully with her family at home.  Born in Kershaw County, SC.  She was the daughter of the late Clifton and Rozene Dority Stokes.  She married her late husband, Bobby Norman McCaskill in Lee County, SC on August 21, 1950. Evelyn worked in retail business.  She was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend. Evelyn was a devoted Christian who enjoyed reading her Bible, puzzle books, working outside and her cats.  She was very independent.

Left to cherish her memories are her children, Gwen Cass (Frank) and Wanda Milam, son-in-law, Beverly Crane; grandchildren, Sonya Marriott, Robert Crane, James Whitaker, Jr., Joseph Crane, Norman Horton, and Robert Cass; 13 great grandchildren; sisters, Iris Latham, Marion McGill, Linda Dillingham, Marlene Deas; and brother, Kenneth Stokes.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Barbara Crane; great grandchild, Alyson Crane; grandson-in-law, Eric Marriott; brother, Bobby Stokes; and sister, Joyce Spencer.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Faith Baptist Church in Bishopville, SC.  With a burial to follow the service in the church cemetery.  The family will be receiving friends the evening prior to the service at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
