Willie Mae Brown "Baye" Harris, 78, born on January 25, 1948, passed away on May 6, 2026. Born and raised in Ridgeway, Baye spent most of her life in the town she loved so dearly. She was a daughter of the late Elliott Brown, Sr. and Eva Mae Martin Brown

Baye was known for her love of shopping, thrifting, and the excitement of finding a good bargain at the flea market. Her vivacious personality and charm were often the highlight of these markets. She was a dedicated member of the Rock Hill Baptist Church where she actively participated in the choir and mission work. Baye was a people’s person and loved visiting with people, sharing stories, and spreading joy.

She is survived by her loving husband, George Harris, her devoted daughter, Brittney Sprenger-Wilson (Jordan); her granddaughter, Zoe Sprenger-Wilson; and siblings, Joe Nathan Brown, Sr., Woodrow Brown (Marguerite), Roosevelt Brown, Elliott Brown Jr. (Shelia), Arthur Brown (Juanita), Sandra Lynn Brown; and a host of other relatives and friends. She now rests with her late parents, Elliott Sr. and Eva Mae Martin Brown; and siblings, Flora Brown and Thelma Brown.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 10, 2026 from 1-3 pm at the Powers Funeral Home, 832 Ridgeway Road, Lugoff, South Carolina, 29078. The funeral service will be conducted on Monday, May 11, 2026 at 12:00 pm at Rock Hill Baptist Church, 1060 Shivers Green Road, Ridgeway, South Carolina, 29130 with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
