It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charlene Hendrick Henderson, age 81, on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 after a short and courageously fought battle with cancer.

Charlene was born in Fort Meade, Florida on February 7, 1945 to the late Paul Bunyan Hendrick, Sr. and Loretta K. Hendrick.

Charlene was strong, tenacious, and fiercely independent.  She was also a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and great aunt.  She not only enjoyed an exceptional corporate career with Occidental Petroleum and Marriott Ownership Resorts, she also worked over 28 years with her husband, John, owning and operating the Camden Floral Company.

Charlene is survived by her husband, John; son, KC Brewington, MD; sister, Paulette Gillispie; brother, Paul Hendrick (Kim); granddaughter, Sarah Brewington, MD; grandson, Will Brewington; niece, Sheila Dolinger (Michael); nephew, Z. Gillispie (Tiffany); niece, Jillian Hendrick; nephew, Zachary Hendrick; grandniece, Mia Dolinger; and grand nephew, Max Dolinger.

In accordance with Charlene's wishes, no specific services will be conducted.  Rather, her remains will be cremated and her ashes spread amongst the waters, sand and many paths that marked the spots where she and her husband, John met, fell in love, and married.  Memorials may be made to any animal hospital, shelter or rescue facility of your choice.
