It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the loss of a vibrant soul, Catherine Polk, born Catherine Cartrette Polk on April 20, 1969, in High Point, NC. Catherine departed from us on May 2, 2026, leaving behind a legacy on the hearts of all who knew her. 

Catherine lived her life to the beat of her own drum, much like the blaring music she loved. A talented CNA in the medical field, she was passionate about caring for others. Her professional devotion was only surpassed by her dedication to her family. Married to her beloved husband, Anthony Polk, Catherine shared countless movie nights, game nights, and memorable family gatherings that were the essence of her existence.

She found joy in the simple pleasures of life - crocheting, singing, dancing, and yard sales, where she found hidden treasures. Catherine's grandbabies and furbabies were her world, and their laughter was her favorite symphony. She believed in the beauty of exploration, often indulging in car rides, just to admire the world around her. 

She leaves behind her husband, Anthony C. Polk; children, Kimburley Peebles, Makayla Peebles, Nicole Polk (Josh) and Allyson Polk; sister, Faye Cartrette; grandchildren, Kolden Rose, Addilynn Kelley, Azazel Kennedy, Bentley Owen and McKenzie Owen; and aunt/mama, Mary Martha "Aunt Marty" Biggs. 

She was predeceased by her parents, Burley Cartrette and Dorothy Cartrette; uncle/father, Donald Biggs; and grandchild, Maverick Rose.
