William "Everett" Peake Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of William "Everett" Peake. Born on October 29, 1970, in Camden, SC, and residing in Elgin, South Carolina, Everett lived a life that was a testament to resilience, compassion, and an unyielding zest for life.
Everett was a graduate of Spring Valley High School and Nashville Auto Diesel College where he graduated top of his class. A machinist by trade, Everett was a proud employee of Elgin Machine. Beyond his craft, Everett was known for his infectious sense of humor, his unparalleled memory, and his unwavering kindness and loyalty to those close to his heart. His love for the outdoors was evident in his passion for hunting and biking, and his love for all things mechanical and NASCAR were legendary. He was a connoisseur of good food and a fervent fan of country music.
Everett also had a deep-rooted commitment to the National Federation of the Blind of South Carolina. His participation in the convention every year was a source of great joy and fulfillment to him, forging lifelong friendships and creating lots of fond memories. He turned his personal challenges into platforms for connection and serving others, a testament to his strength and resolve.
Everett is survived by his parents, William Furman and Sherry Rhodus Peake; sisters, Laura Peake Hester (Kevin) and Jennifer Peake Collins (Hugh); nieces, Elizabeth Peake Simon (Peter) and Janna Hester and Caroline Hester; great nephew, Warner Simon; great niece, Arden Simon, and the family cat, Sweet Pea.
Mr. Peake was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, William Harvin III and Maggie Elizabeth "Betty" Crolley Rhodus; and paternal grandparents, Albert Lawrence and Mittie Pluma Atkerson Peake.
A celebration of life for Mr. Peake will be held at a later date.
