Raymond Hoover Obituary

Raymond William Hoover, 77, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026. Born in St. Petersburg, he was a son of the late Earl Carl Hoover and Leona Evelyn Ritchie. Mr. Hoover, husband of the late Debby Hoover, enjoyed working on cars and watching racing and football. He was an avid Carolina Gamecocks fan. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

    Surviving are his children, Alvaro Garcia, Deanna Hurst, Kim Lane; grandchildren, Kory Lowe (Holly), Evan Lowe, Kayla Larson, Nick Larson, Amanda Hoover, Tawney Crowley, Teresa Flores, Leanna Taylor; a sister, Patricia Wooten; and several great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a son, Donald E. "Donny" Hoover; a grandson, Larry Lee Hurst, Jr.; and a sister, Judy Branham.

     A service to celebrate his life will be held Thursday, April 23 at 5:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 4-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
