Jackie D. Cooper Obituary
Jackie David Cooper, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. Born in Cassatt, SC, on September 9, 1939, he was the son of the late Grover Cleveland "Jack" and Blanche Threatt Cooper. He lived a life marked by service, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to those he held dear.
Jackie was a proud veteran, having served in the United States Marine Corp. during the Korean Conflict. His patriotism and dedication to service didn't end with his military service. He continued to contribute to his community, chairing the Kershaw County Marine Corp League and organizing with Toys for Tots Campaign each year. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 17. Jackie's professional journey led him to E.I. DuPont in Camden, where he worked as a supervisor until his retirement. He was also chief of security for Kendall Mill after retirement. His work ethic and leadership were admired by all who worked with him.
In his leisure time, Jackie was an avid sports fan and enjoyed spending time at the shooting range. He enjoyed reading, history, playing his electric guitar, and listening to music. He was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life, always cherishing the time spent with his loved ones.
Jackie is survived by his daughter, Lisa Cooper Barrett of Lake Wateree; son, Jeff Cooper (Lori) of Camden; sister, Jean Cooper Chandler (Lester); sister-in-law, Cathy Reeves (Leonard); brother-in-law, Charlie Kerfoot (Gina); and grandchildren, Jordan Cooper (Abbi), Graham Cooper (Drew), and Tanner Cooper (Christine); and great grandchildren, Kaylee Cooper and James Cooper.
