John Edward O'Connell, 72, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026. Born in Norwood, MA, on July 4, 1953 to the late William George O'Connell and Joan Lucille Rubbicco O'Connell. He was remembered for being a jokester with a hilarious personality. He never met a person he couldn't win over. He loved casinos, traveling, gardening and being with his family, especially his grandkids. 

Left to cherish his memories are his children, Danielle Baker, Nicholas O'Connell (Amanda), Josh O'Connell (Shannon) and Samantha Paula (Tim); mother, Joan Lucille Rubbicco O'Connell; siblings, William O'Connell (Janet), Joan Doherty (William), Stacey Shannon (Paul) and Scott O'Connell; grandchildren, Jaqueline Baker, Tyler Baker (Sasha), Alexander Baker and Isabella O'Connell; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

He was predeceased by his father, William George O'Connell; brother, Frankie O'Connell and sister-in-law, Barbara "Barbie" O'Connell. 

Services for Mr. O'Connell will be privately held.
