Thomas "Pyro" Lyons Obituary
With a rumbly engine and a twinkle in his eye, our beloved Thomas Lyons, affectionately known as Pyro, rode out of this world and onto the celestial highway on April 9, 2026. Born on May 30, 1948, in Malone, NY, Thomas made a name for himself as a journeyman in the gas utilities business, but his heart was always on the open road - preferably on a motorcycle.
Pyro lived his life with a fiery spirit and sparkle that matched his nickname, a flame that continued to burn bright even after his retirement. He was a devoted member of the International Praise Church of God, but his worship wasn’t limited to the sanctuary. He found joy and peace in his garden, where he could often be found, hands covered in earth, growing both vegetables and friendships. His Laboring Few Ministries, Motorcycle Ministry, was an extension of his faith, allowing Pyro to share his love of God and motorcycles with others. Back home in Lugoff, South Carolina, Pyro's shop was a sanctuary of sorts, where he'd tinker and invent to his heart's content.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda Lyons; daughters, Erin M. Medlin (Bud) of Lugoff, Jennifer Branham (Deric) of Lugoff; grandchildren, Madison Christy (Nick), Dylan Medlin, Hunter Hudson, Kaitlyn Walling (Dre), Landon Hudson, Kyler Branham, Kyle Littlejohn; siblings, Mona Livermont, Jamie Lewis, Patricia Typhair, Sue Norieaga, Bill Lyons (Carole); and 7 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Harold Lyons and Betty Hanson; and his siblings, Chuck Lyons, Harold Lyons and Lydia Dano.
His life will be celebrated on Saturday, April 18, 2026, with a service at 11:00 am at the International Praise Church of God, followed by a burial in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Jason Garner will officiate.
