Johnny Thomas, Jr., born April 1, 1967, in Camden, South Carolina, was a man of many talents and passions. He was a skilled carpenter, and a masterful cook who had an infectious love for life. Alongside his love for carpentry was a fervent passion for fishing and cooking. He could often be found casting a line into the tranquil waters of South Carolina, or in his kitchen, where he wielded a spatula and chef's knife with the same skill and precision as his carpentry tools.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Tucker Thomas of Lugoff; son, Marquil Drakeford; step-daughter, Deva Stith; sisters, Fredricia Thomas and Sybilla Thomas; brother, Fredrick W. Thomas (Mickey); grandchildren, Amahhda Russine Dinkins, Olivia Drakeford and A'mora Drakeford; nieces, Eden Belton, Aldreannia Belton and Beyonce Thomas; and nephew, Domminique Thomas Hayes, Jaden Mack and Jordan Mack

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home.
