It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Gail Stokes Hames, 72,  was born on January 6, 1954, in Bishopville, SC,  and moved on to her next journey on March 20, 2026. 

Gail's love for her home was a testament to her dedication as a homemaker, creating a warm and inviting environment for all who entered. She loved creating with her hands, whether it was in the kitchen, cooking and baking up a storm, or in her craft room, where she brought to life beautiful pieces of art. Her decorating skills were second to none, and she found special joy in making the Christmas season magical for her family and friends. Gail lived every day, pouring love and care into her home, her crafts, and the lives of her beloved fur babies.

She is survived by her sisters, Kay McLeod of Camden and Cheryl Wallace of Bishopville, S.C.;  brother, Ronnie Stokes of Lugoff; special niece, Angela McLeod; special nephews, Douglas McLeod, II; and great-nephews, Phoenix McLeod, Kayden Sturkie, Kaydock Abel McLeod, and Kayne McLeod. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Hames; loving parents, Donnie Blake and Blanche Wallace Stokes; and sisters, Joyce McCaskill and Mary Campbell.

The family extends a heartfelt thanks to Amedisys Hospice especially, Teri Erhardt and Suzanne Rapp, and Nellie Sue Lyles Morgan and Robin Huffsteler for their loving care. Services will be private.
