Sally Kay Broadway, age 78, of Ridgeway, SC, passed away on March 19, 2026. Born on December 10, 1947 in Sumter, SC, Sally, daughter of the late John and Margaret Broadway, was a beloved sister, and friend, known for her unwavering dedication to her family, students, and the many animals she held dear.

In her professional life, Sally served her community as a devoted teacher in public schools. She was passionate about her work and loved nothing more than seeing her students succeed. In her personal life, Sally's love for animals, particularly cats and dogs, was palpable. Her home was a haven for many a stray, and her kindness extended to all creatures, great and small.

Sally is survived by her her sister, Martha Blackmon (Curtis), and nephews, Curt Blackmon III, John H. Blackmon; 1 great-nephew; and 2 great-nieces.  She was predeceased by her husband, Paul Herring.

A graveside service will be held Sunday at 11:00 am in Sumter City Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
