FORT LAWN – Funeral service for John Davis Pressley, 83, will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, Camden. The family will receive friends 1hr prior to the service at the funeral home. 

Mr. Pressley passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026.  Born in Chester, S.C., he was the son of the late Wilson David Pressley and Sadie Beckham Varnadore. John was an Elvis Presley fan and enjoyed watching baseball, old westerns, and the Three Stooges. He had a great sense of humor, was proud that he never got a speeding ticket, and loved food, especially salt. John had a compassionate soul and was kind to everyone he met.

Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Shirley Durham Pressley; daughter, Gail Man (Chhaya Lee Man); grandchildren, Jonathan Man (Jordan), Chhasity Martin, and Halee Man (Joe Trainor); great-grandchildren, Emery Man, Rylee Man, Presley Martin, and Raelynn Autry.

He was predeceased by his siblings, David Pressley, Leonard Pressley, Betty Lou Humphries, Inez Pettit, and Annie Lee Broom.
