Jerrold Mark Freeman, 76, recently relocated to Ridgeway, South Carolina from Landing, New Jersey, passed away on February 20, 2026. He was born on October 9, 1949 in Passaic, New Jersey and was raised in Fair Lawn, New Jersey.
Jerrold was the beloved husband of Jean Freeman (nee Saltalamacchia), with whom he shared 46 years of marriage, a devoted father to his daughters Julia and Victoria, and loving grandfather to Andrew. He is also survived by his dear sisters, Gail Fisher and Ellen DiFranco (nee Freeman), nephews Evan and Jeff and nieces Deneen and Jessica.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin Freeman and Mildred Freeman (nee Lavine).
Jerry earned his Bachelor’s degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University and spent his career as an automotive damage appraiser. As a lifelong car enthusiast, Jerry had a passion for everything from modern vehicles to classics, muscle cars and rat rods. He especially loved restoring them and entering car shows, winning awards across several categories throughout the years. When not in the garage, Jerry could be found out on the lake, his second home, fishing from early dawn to late evening. He also enjoyed attending his daughter and grandson’s sporting events, playing cards with his buddies, watching the Yankees and all things chocolate.
Jerry will be remembered for his unique sense of humor, one best understood and shared by his family, and for being a man of few words but having a big heart and invaluable lessons to pass down to those he loved. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew him best.
A celebration of life service will take place in New Jersey; details to follow.
