Lois Truesdell Bradley of Lugoff, South Carolina, passed away on February 27, 2026, at the age of 74, after complications from a stroke.
Lois was a lifelong Lugoff resident and a nurse/caregiver to her core—curious, determined, and always learning. She began her career as a licensed practical nurse in the early 1970s and continued advancing her education for decades, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (University of South Carolina, 1977), Master of Nursing in Midwifery (Medical University of South Carolina, 1984), and Master of Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner (University of South Carolina, 1998). She founded About Your Health in Columbia, where she helped people better understand their health and options with a steady, practical kind of compassion.
She loved being outdoors—especially horse riding, fishing, music and cowboy poetry. She leaves behind two much-loved 27-year-old horses, Rock and Shine, and two cats, Mickey D and Dollywood.
She is survived by her son Paul and daughter-in-law Sally of Austin, Texas; her sisters Donna (Dede) Truesdell of Hilton Head (with her husband Fred and their son Bill Schindler) and Gay Lilly of Lugoff (with her husband Butch), brother Steven Truesdell of Roseburg, Oregon (with his wife Ginger); and dear friends Linda, Lynn, Jennifer, Lana, Yvonne, Melita and many others.
In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring Lois’s love of animals with a donation to Final Victory Animal Rescue:
