Karen Elaine Wagner, of Elgin, South Carolina, passed away on February 28, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on April 17, 1945, in Beech Grove, Indiana, Karen was a daughter of the late Clarice Amos.
Karen was an accomplished bookkeeper, working in the accounting field until her retirement. Her professional dedication was only surpassed by her love for her family and her passion for animals. Karen was known to be a wonderful cook, and she found great joy in preparing meals for her loved ones. She also greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Karen's kindness extended beyond her family, as she was a well-known animal lover who often spent her free time caring for and helping animals in need. Her love and compassion will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Karen is survived by her husband, Eddie Wagner; sons, Michael Wagner of Elgin, Daniel Wagner of Elgin; her daughter, Amanda McChesney (Eric) of Winnsboro; grandchildren, Keagan McChesney, Ethan McChesney, Cory Jackson, Kensy Wagner; siblings, Linda Beaver (Charles), Mike Amos (Ann), Roger Amos (Traci), Mary Beth Nichols (Brian); and her beloved pet, Teddy. In addition to her mother, she was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Tracey Wagner.
In accordance with Karen's wishes, services will be private. Memorials may be made to an animal shelter or animal rescue of your choice, in honor of Karen's lifelong passion for animal welfare.
