Tommy dedicated his life to his family and his work as a business owner of Palmetto Threads & Fabrics, Inc of Easley, South Carolina. He was known for his integrity, kindness, and unwavering support of those he loved. He enjoyed shagging every Wednesday and Friday in North Myrtle Beach, SC and in Camden, SC, golfing at any local Country Club, fishing at his secret fishing holes, his Annual trip to Myrtle Beach to the Close Beach House with lifelong friends, and an exciting game of poker or pool. He found his greatest joy in time spent with family, and especially his loving grandchildren who possessed his heart.

He leaves behind a legacy of love through his loving and devoted wife, Elizabeth Gaffney, his brother, Don and Lynnie, and children Lisa Blume, Gary and Amy Gaffney, Lucy Gaffney, and grandchildren Ann, Ansley, Ian, Rory, and Asa; along with, his nieces and nephews – Angie Gaffney Houston, Campbell Dwyer, Christian Gaffney, and Kathi Carter.

He is preceded in death by his first wife of 57 years, Judy Whitaker Gaffney.

A memorial service will be held on February 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Bethesda Presbyterian Church in Camden, SC. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude’s Research Hospital in honor of Rory Chapman Gaffney and Shriner’s Hospital of Greenville, South Carolina in honor of Lisa Gaffney Blume. Our Daddy and Husband will be deeply missed and forever remembered. God’s speed Smooth, Catfish, Handsome, and Love of Our Lives. Until we meet again…..
