Bryan Michael Thompson Obituary

Bryan Michael Thompson was born on November 25, 1974, in Camden, SC, and passed away on February 23, 2026. A beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Bryan was the embodiment of strength and compassion.

Bryan was a hard-working truck driver for over 20 years for various trucking companies. While employed for Jupa Trucking Company, he was recognized as Driver of the Year. Bryan honorably served his country in the United States Marines and was discharged in 1994. While in the service he received a metal for good conduct, national defense service and rifle marksmanship. He found joy in the open road, the rumble of an engine beneath him, whether in his truck or on his beloved Harley. As a motorcyclist, fisherman, and steadfast supporter of NASCAR, Bryan was passionate about his hobbies. He was also a proud fan of Clemson football, but above all, he treasured the moments he spent talking about God, his children, and his grandchildren. Bryan was also a champion in the weight room, having won a bench-pressing award in a weightlifting competition. Bryan was a member of Second Chance Fellowship Church in Camden, SC, the church where he also married his beloved wife of nine years, Shannon Darlene Yocum Thompson.

In addition to his wife, Bryan is survived by his children, Joshua Thompson (Amber), Breanna Thompson, Bradley Thompson (Teri), Jacob Dinkins, Zackery Dinkins, Briana Holmes and Austin Taylor (Anna); parents, Jerry Michael and Jeri Carraway Thompson; 8 grandchildren, nieces, Ashlynn Thompson, Amber Thompson and nephew, Austin Thompson; and his brothers in Christ, Marvin Jones and William Trapp.

Bryan was predeceased by his brother, Eric Thompson.

A funeral honoring Bryan's life will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Powers Funeral Home in Lugoff, SC with burial to follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park where military honors will also be rendered. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Rev. Marvin Jones will be officiating.
