CAMDEN – A memorial service for Steve Kiba, 94, will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church with burial and military honors to follow in the church cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks to honor Steve by helping those in need and supporting your local animal humane organizations.

Mr. Kiba, a devote Christian, a loving husband and caring father passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.  Born in Lundale, WV, he was the son of the late Steve and Madeline (Veres) Kiba. As a first generation American, he felt honored to serve his country in the United States Air Force, where, as a B-29 Radio Operator, he was shot down and held Prisoner of War for 936 days in China and North Korea.  After the military, Steve taught English, Spanish and substitute taught French for over 20 years at Norton High School (Norton, OH).  After retirement from teaching, he moved to Camden where he enjoyed golfing, fellowship with friends, family and church members, taking on rolls in his church as a Deacon and Treasurer and spending time with the love of his life, Darlene.

Steve is the last of 11 brothers and sisters and is survived by his daughter, Alicia and her husband Richard Wilson; son, Jeff and his wife Amy Kiba; 4 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
