Buddy's work at Kendall Mill was not merely a job but a testament to his tenacity and commitment as he worked there for over 40 years. In Elgin, South Carolina, where he resided, Buddy was known for his captivating storytelling, his love for working in the yard, and his deep affection for his dogs.
Buddy leaves behind his beloved wife, Patricia Outlaw Corbett; children, Lynn Corbett, Sandra Corbett, and James Corbett (Sabrina); grandchildren, Shawn Corbett (Martha), Kelly C. Smith (Dustin), James Corbett, Jr. (Melissa) and Matthew Corbett (Katelynn); 20 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace Corbett Sr. and Delphine Arrants Corbett; brother, Johnny Corbett; and nephew, Jay Corbett.
His life will be celebrated at a memorial service to be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, 832 Ridgeway Road, Lugoff, South Carolina, 29078. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dementia Society of America, P.O. Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901.
