Donald W. Truesdale Obituary

Donald Waldell Truesdale also known as “Johnny” was born in Camden, South Carolina on July 16, 1959 to the late Walter Jacobs and Margaret Truesdale. During Johnny’s tender years he went to live with his uncle Burt and Aunt Bernise who raised him until he was reunited with his mother In Bronx, New York.


Johnny was skilled with his hands and set out early contracting jobs as a carpenter. Johnny Married Dedra Harrison and from that marriage he fathered his first child Donald J. Truesdale. After separating from his wife, Johnny remarried to Jacqulyn Williams who helped raise his son.


Johnny, later in his life moved back to South Carolina for a fresh start where he aided his family and received love and care. Johnny fathered a daughter, Precious Truesdale, who was his princess with Cierra Martinez.


Johnny had a loving soul, kind, funny, and always conducting himself like a gentleman at all times. His absence has hurt family, friends, and the community deeply. Thought he was quiet his presence was loud as he gazed the room. Johnny will be missed dearly as he is survived by his son, Donald Jonathan Truesdale, Jr.; his daughter, Precious Truesdale; his siblings, Sabrina Ashby, Cynthia Jefferson, Mary Truesdale, James Brackson, and Tonya Brackson.


A celebration of life service will be held on Monday at 5:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff.
