Timothy Avon "Tim" Grant, 63, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Born in Boykin, S.C., he was a son of the late Ella Grant. Tim was a musician of the original Drifters with Bill Pinkney and was also a member of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church. He enjoyed singing, playing the guitar, drawing and art.

     Left to cherish his memory are his children, Tiffany Nelson, Lateshia Nelson, Timothy Grant, Jr., Silas Grant, Pharrell Grant; companion, Naudivee Harvey; sister, Clara Grant McLeod; brothers, Derrick Grant and Charles Grant; and 6 grandchildren. 

    A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 10:00 am at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Freddie Thomas will officiate. A public viewing will be held Friday February 6, 2026 from 5-7 pm at Powers Funeral Home. The family will be be receiving friends from 2-8 pm February 3, 2026 at 6611 James St. Rembert SC 29128 at the home of Mary Stukes.
