Easter Mae Tucker Obituary

Due to Inclement Weather Services Have Been Changed

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Easter Mae Tucker, a beacon of love and humility, who left us on January 12, 2026. Born in Westville, SC on March 28, 1945, to the late Clarence and Eva Drakeford Wright, Easter moved to Lugoff, where she spent her life enriching the lives of those around her with her quiet strength and boundless love.

Easter was a devoted homemaker, whose home was a haven of warmth and comfort for all who entered. She was a dedicated member of the High Hill Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and served on the usher board. As a lover of crossword puzzles, she often amazed family and friends with her knack for solving the trickiest of clues. Her love for attending social events was a testament to her love for people and her joy in celebrating life's precious moments.

Easter's life was a testament to the power of love. Despite her soft-spoken nature, her love was loud and all-encompassing. She had a unique way of making everyone feel special and loved.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 58 years, Wilbert Tucker; daughter, Winifred Evans (Rodney) of Calabash; son, Anthon D. Tucker (Gabby) of Columbia; sisters, Ellen Thompson of Lancaster, S.C., Geneva Cauthen of Irvington, NJ, Rosetta Fletcher of Philadelphia, Pa.;  and a granddaughter, Tyanna Angel Tucker.  She was predeceased by a son Wilbert Tucker, Jr.; and siblings, Eva, John, Minnie, Clarence, LizzieBeth (Punch ), and Thomas.

The celebration of her life will be held at High Hill Baptist Church in Lugoff, South Carolina, on Monday, February 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery on Flat Rock Road, Camden, S.C. A visitation will be held Sunday, February 8, 2026 from 4-6 pm at Powers Funeral Home.
