Jonathan Howard Kesterson, 66, passed away peacefully in his home on January 5th, 2026. He was beloved by many, he was a character and a jokester. During his long battle with liver failure, he never wavered in his faith or in his spirit, which he gained from his esteemed career in the US Marines and in the US Air Force. He attained the rank of Tech Sergeant and served in the Persian Gulf War. His love for the military and his country, were no match for the love that he had for my mother, Josephine. He is survived by his mother Marie, his nephew Mark and his daughter, Amber. His military career and his subsequent jobs as a Military Contractor, took him all over the world, but he always said, “there’s no place like home”. He will be laid to rest in Fort Jackson National Cemetery.
