Barry Dexter Julian, departed on his final journey on January 6, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, integrity, and a true zest for life. Born on December 3, 1953, Barry was a man of exceptional character and unwavering loyalty. He served in the United States Army and retired from the South Carolina Army National Guard.

A resident of Lugoff, South Carolina, Barry was a dedicated family man, a loyal friend, and a respected professional. He was married to his beloved wife, Jane Vandiver Julian, on December 1, 1979, and together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Barry was not only a loving husband but also a doting father to his son, Eric Thomas Julian. Barry was a Management Systems Lead Auditor in the manufacturing industry. He was a proud alumnus of Clemson University and held a master’s degree from Brenau University in Gainesville, Ga, reflecting his enduring spirit of learning and growth.

Barry's love for life extended beyond his professional and academic accomplishments. He was an ardent fan of Clemson and loved R.V. camping and traveling. However, his most cherished moments were those spent with his granddaughters, whose laughter and innocence brought him immeasurable joy. 

Barry was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Edna Julian; and sister, JoAnn Guinn (Gene); and foster brother, Thomas "Fred" Hare.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 46 years, Jane V. Julian; son, Eric T. Julian (Kristy) of Irmo; and granddaughters, Charlotte Julian and Caroline Julian. 

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 12, 2026, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, 832 Ridgeway Road, Lugoff, South Carolina, 29078. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with burial following in Lugoff First Baptist Church Cemetery.
