CASSATT- A funeral service for George Dixon, Jr., 82, will be held Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at 11:00 am at Malvern Hill Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Craig Thompson and the Rev. Buster Morris will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10-11 am at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Malvern Hill Baptist Church, Building Fund at 1514 Malvern Hill Drive, Camden, SC 29020.

    Mr. Dixon passed away on January 6, 2026. Born in Darlington County, he was a son of the late William George and Lena Mae Atkinson Dixon. Mr. Dixon was a member of Malvern Hill Baptist Church, where he served as a former deacon. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, dirt track racing, and most of all, spending time with his family.

    Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Annie Mae Dixon; children, Darlene Ham (Ricky) of Cassatt, Leon Dixon (Dianne) of Cassatt, Marlene Bantum (Don) of Cassatt. Doug Dixon (Leslie) of Anacoco, LA; son-in-law, Jim Mathis; sister, Katherine Hammonds (Bob); brother, Marion Dixon; 16 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Charlene Mathis; and brothers, William Dixon and Jimmy Dixon.
