On Christmas Day, 2025, the world lost a gem of a woman, Gladys Elizabeth Jackson Marsh. Born on April 22, 1930, in Richland County, South Carolina, Gladys spent her 95 years in relentless service to her family and community.
Gladys was a homemaker, a title she wore with pride. The heart of her home in Camden, South Carolina, pulsed with love, laughter, and the smell of home-baked goods. Her hands, always busy, created a welcoming environment for all who entered. Gladys was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a doting grandmother. She was a woman of strength and grace, a beacon of light in the lives of all who knew her.
Gladys was preceded in death by her father, Ezell Jackson, and her mother, Kitsey Brown Jackson; husband, Leroy Burgess Marsh; and son, Michael Stanley Marsh. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Danny Marsh (Gerri) and Glenn Marsh; and daughter, Elizabeth Ann Marsh; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
A visitation and funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at High Hill True Light Church in Cassatt, South Carolina with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
