James Michael "Mike" Busby, was born on August 16, 1948, in Danville, IL, and peacefully departed this world and was called home on December 7, 2025. 

Mike found his true love, Carolyn, and they united in holy matrimony on August 29, 1970. Mike was a self-made man, who, with his entrepreneurial spirit, built a successful upholstery business. He was the embodiment of hard work and perseverance, his dedication reflecting in every piece he crafted.

Mike's life was a testament to his faith. He was a devoted member of the New Life Christian Outreach Church, and his relationship with God was at the core of his existence. He served God with unwavering faith and dedication. Mike was a family-oriented man, his love for his family knew no bounds, and he instilled in them the same values of faith, love, and hard work that guided his life.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn "Lynn" Eugenia Williamson Busby; son, Mike Busby (Vicki) of Ridgeway, SC, Stephen Busby (Shannon) of Johns Island, SC, David Busby (Karen) of Lewisville, NC, Mary Rogers (Daniel) of West Columbia, SC; siblings, Georgia White of Orlando, FL and Linda Busby of Reno, NV; and grandchildren, Ben Busby, Carolyn Rogers, Colton Busby, Lauren Busby, Piper Busby, Ann Marie Rogers, James Busby, Millie Rogers and  Eliana Busby.

His parents, Charles and Helen Busby and siblings, Tom Busby, Terry Busby, Dick Busby and Libby Bartle, who preceded him in death, surely welcomed him with open arms to his heavenly home. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2025 at 11:00 am at New Life Christian Outreach in Lugoff, SC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Rev. Derrick Proctor will be officiating.
