With a heart filled with sorrow and a spirit filled with gratitude, we announce the passing of Katie Peebles on December 8, 2025. Born on June 22, 1951, in Camden, SC, Katie lived a life that was as vibrant and engaging as the crafts she so loved to create.
Katies unwavering faith was evident in her involvement with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Camden. Her love for crafting was surpassed only by her passion for her community, often found playing bingo or attending her cherished ladies group at the church. Katie's legacy of love and service extends to her great-grandson, who she adored.
She is survived by her son, Robert Lewis Peebles, Jr of Camden, Sc; brothers, Edward Kersey (Cathy) and Kenneth Kersey (Joyce); sisters, Geraldine Whitten and Paula Bare; grandchildren, Michael Peebles, Jr. Jordan L. Peebles and Nicholas Peebles; and great-grandson, Michael Eaton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lewis Peebles, Sr.; parents, Levine and Earl Kersey; son, Michael Peebles; daughter-in-law, Cindy Peebles; siblings, Earl Kersey, Jr. and Joann Napper; and granddaughter, Samantha Eaton.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 12:00 pm at Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Camden, SC with burial to follow in Quaker Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the relief society room.
