Malinda Campbell Mickle, 79, departed this earthly life on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at MUSC Health Kershaw, Camden, South Carolina. She was surrounded and supported by family members in the time leading up to her transition.
Born on October 28, 1946, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of the late Mamie Lannaman and Ike Blanding and raised in Horatio, SC by her adopted parents, the late Marcus Campbell and his wife, the late Luceiner Campbell. Malinda attended the public schools of Sumter County. She was married at the age of 23 to the love of her life, Mark Mickle, for 54 years and they had four children. Malinda's first job was with Kentucky Fried Chicken where she dedicated 42 years of service from 1968 - 2010. During this time she served in many positions, including being a regional trainer, and store manager at the Lugoff, Bishopville and Camden, SC store locations. She was also a member of Nazareth Baptist Church in Cassatt, SC, where she served as a member of the women missionary ministry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Gregory Campbell and Henry Campbell; and twin sister, Margaret Campbell Phelps.
Malinda leaves behind to cherish precious memories her husband, Mark Mickle of Camden, SC; three sons, Marcus (Barbara) Campbell of Columbia, SC, Wylie (Cassandra) Mickle of Camden, SC, and Cornelius (Senta) Mickle of Newnan, GA; one daughter Philicia Mickle-Robinson of Elgin, SC; nine grandchildren, Ashley Harris, Marcus (Danielle) Campbell, Kieanna Robinson, Kolin Robinson, Javarrus Mickle, Arden Mickle, Dana Johnson, Darrian Johnson, Daijah Mickle; six great-grandchildren, Kingston Harris, Anniston Harris, Easton Harris, Zyeria Johnson, Amina Johnson, Semaj Johnson; sisters, Carmen (Dale) Lannaman Duval of Georgia, Norma Lannama of New York; brother, Willie Lee Jackson of New Jersey; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends.
