CASSATT- A funeral service for Henrietta C. Watkins, 78, will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Dean Elliott will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home.

    Mrs. Watkins passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Carlisle and Katherine Newman Lewis. Mrs. Watkins enjoyed reading her Bible, gardening and flowers, and arts and crafts, especially painting. Her favorite thing was to spend time with family and grandchildren.

    Surviving are her husband, Ernest "Carroll" Watkins, sons, Mica Cochran (Sheryl) of Summerland Key, FL, Carroll "Punky" Watkins (Amanda) of Cassatt; daughters, Felicia Watkins of Bethune, Lisa Hendrix (Peanut) of Kershaw; siblings, Lorie Dowling of Timmonsville, Carleen Brice of Sumter, Carlisle Lewis (Barbara) of Lancaster, Floranna Hicks (Al) of New Zion; brother-in-law, Larry Baxley of Lake City; grandchildren, Courtney, Cody, Zoey, Luke, Logan, Lily, Tyler, Autumn; and a great-grandchild, Lane. She was predeceased by a son Robert "Robbie" Cochran; and a sister, Judy Baxley.
