MYRTLE BEACH – A memorial service for John Edward Neal, 73, will be held at 2pm on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Mt Olivet Baptist Church, 608 Black River Road, Camden, S.C.
Mr. Neal passed away on October 29, 2025. Born in Camden, SC, he was the son of the late Lewis Lee Neal and Ruth Craven Neal. He attended the University of South Carolina where he was a member of the marching band. He retired from Duke Energy, Catawba Nuclear station. He loved the mountain life where he enjoyed hiking, biking and skiing, and was an avid music lover.
Surviving is his wife, Brenda Hyatt Neal; son, John Paul Neal; grandchildren, Clarissa Nicole Wright (Troy), Brennen Lee Neal, and Nathan Shaye Dampier; brothers, E.J. “Jack” Neal (Shana) of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., Richard W. Neal (Judy), Summerton , S.C.; and a number of nieces of nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, David R. Neal.
