Elvia Audine DeJarnett, 92, of Columbia, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025. Born in Roy, N.M., she was a daughter of the late Henry Jeff Slusher and Elvia Coldiron Slusher. Mrs. DeJarnett spent most of her life in New Mexico, where she worked as a special education teacher after obtaining her Master's Degree in special education. She was a woman of strong faith, and enjoyed attending church services. She also had a passion for music and was an excellent singer. Mrs. DeJarnett enjoyed reading and praising the Lord. 

    Surviving are her son, Timothy "Tim" Hern (Gina) of Bellevue, NE; daughters, Karen F. Deets (McCary L.) of Columbia, S.C., Donna J. Goodwin (Roger) of Lenoir, N.C.; a brother, Darryl Slusher of TX; 3 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. 

    A celebration of life service will be held, Tuesday at 4:00 p.m., at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff S.C. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3-4 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
