Edward Levi Sholly, Jr., 76, passed away September 20, 2025. Born in Newark, N.J., he was a son of the late Edward Levi and Genevieve Brady Sholly. Ed moved with his family in 1954 from N.J. to Greenville, S.C. where he spent his childhood. As a child, he was diagnosed with Polio, a disease he was able to overcome with the help of family and the community. He moved back to Southampton, N.J. where he spend 40 plus years, working as a draftsman. Ed moved back to Columbia, S.C. in 2018, fulfilling a wish of his to be closer to family.

     Ed was an artist and an expectational woodworker. He would wield art pieces and made several wood item including many clocks, cutting boards, and several other items which he displayed in his home or would give to family. He loved his family, especially his nephews, nieces, great-nephews and nieces; and great-great nephews and nieces.

    Surviving are his brothers, Francis "Frank" Sholly of Columbia, Christopher "Chris" Sholly of Jacksonville, FL; nephews, Doug Sholly, Pete Sholly, Christina Stroud, Edward Ballard-Sholly; and several great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. 

     A funeral service will be held Sunday at 12:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Memorial Gardens of Columbia. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, a charity that Ed enjoyed supporting.
