It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our precious mama, a devoted, humble servant of Jesus Christ. She was the second oldest daughter of MC and Carolyn Arrants. A graduate of Bishopville High School in 1971. She would go onto work at Kershaw County Medical Center and then went on to Camden Surgical Associates. At the time of her retirement it was known as Kershaw Health Surgery Center in 2015. She enjoyed cooking for her family and was one of the best. She enjoyed shopping, working in her flowers, and going to the beach. She loved to be in church.

Her greatest accomplishment was her two daughters, Carlette and Amanda. She was the best mama and made sure they knew how loved they were.

She became a grandmother in 2003 and again in 2005, Carleigh and Alice Rose were her pride and joy. Being their “Nane” was her favorite title. She would see them every week until they moved away in 06' and then she would travel to the mountains at least once a month for the next fifteen years or so. The whole family would vacation together every year.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters and son-in-law, Carlette McCaskill and Amanda and Frank Tidwell. Her most precious granddaughters and their husbands, Carleigh and Brandon Harris, Alice Rose and Josh Marshall. The newest addition and the one she had been waiting on, her great grandson, Miles Layne Harris. Father of her girls, Carl McCaskill. Her sisters, Lois and Ronnie Boykin, Jean Radcliff, Janice Scurry, Audrey Arrants, Edith Nunnery and Fran Truesdale, and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by brothers-in-law, Robert Radcliff, Eric Nunnery and Donald "Red" Truesdale. Niece, Christy Roberts, great niece, Blair Spears, and great grandbaby Harris.

The family would like to thank our Hospice ladies, Amedisys (Sumter), Suzanne and Teri who went above and beyond and became family.

She was a member of Hermitage Baptist Church where she was active in the Senior Adult Ministry, Sacs of Love and other various committees as her health allowed. She had a love for the widows and graciously loved and hosted the widows of Hermitage Baptist every year for at least ten years.

We're thankful for all the sacrifices made over the last year to help us keep our mama in the comfort of her own home. We are especially thankful to our sweet Alice Rose and Amanda who spent the majority of the year living with and taking care of our sweet mama, to Fran and Janice who came faithfully for the last year so Carlette could continue to work, and for God’s protection over Frank and Josh on their many road trips each weekend.

To mama's great nieces, Faith and Savanah for spa days and to our neighborhood kid River for making days brighter. Thanks to all who have brought food, sent flowers, and cards over this last year. We read them all to her and it meant so much to her. We were all shown the love of God though your kindness.

Memorials may be made to Hermitage Baptist Church, Legacy of Faith Fund or the Gideons.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 4:00 pm at Hermitage Baptist Church in Camden, SC. With burial to follow at Antioch Baptist Church in Camden. The family will receive friends the evening prior at Powers Funeral Home in Lugoff from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
