Frankie Pierce Peake, 83, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Born in Blaney, SC, she was the daughter of the late Curtis M. Pierce and Mamie Lou Taylor Pierce. She was preceded in death by her sister, Margie Pierce.
She married her late husband, Horace Peake on April 19, 1962 in Blaney, SC. Frankie cherished the many years she spent working at her mother’s restaurant, Mamie’s Hot Dog Stand. It was there she met countless people, many of whom became lifelong friends. Years later, after raising her children and caring for her husband, Frankie began working at Pine Grove School in Elgin, SC, where she lovingly cared for children with special needs.
Following her retirement, she devoted herself to caring for her mother and sister. Together, they found joy in entertaining friends, dining out, and riding the back roads. Frankie enjoyed going to the mountains every summer, often bringing family and friends along. She had a love for country music and the Grand Ole Opry. She was an excellent cook, and found great joy in preparing meals for her family and friends.
Above all else, she cherished being with her family. She was grounded in faith and instilled those same values in her children through the way she lived, loved and served others. She weathered many storms in life, but carried a strong spirit and remained a devoted wife, mother and caregiver. Her witty sense of humor and spur of the moment sass, brought many laughs over the years.
She will be deeply missed by those she leaves behind. Left to cherish her memory are her loving daughters, Mia Harrelson (Mike), Wanda Thompson (Aaron), and Lynn Dara (Steven). Grandchildren, Dawson Reece Harrelson (Faith), Keaton Riggs Harrelson, and Jessica Harrelson Dorr (Shane), Gavin Pierce Thompson, Garrett Peake Thompson, Steven Marshall Dara, Abigail Dara Miles (Trey), Ian Reed Dara and LJ Blume. Great grandchildren, Praisleigh Grace Dorr, Averleigh Joy Dorr and Sawyer James Miles. She was looking forward with joy, the arrival of her great grand, Sadie Maree Harrelson. Numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 17, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Powers Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 3:00 pm at Powers Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Hillcrest Baptist Church, Elgin SC.
