Lisa Beth Catoe Smith Obituary

Lisa Beth Catoe Smith, 58, born April 3rd, 1967 in Camden, SC, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.  She was the daughter of the late John Maxie Catoe and Betty Duncan Catoe. Lisa enjoyed spending time with her family, watching t.v., spending time at the beach, and her career as a flight attendant. She loved being a Grammy to her 5 grandchildren and her beloved dog, Luna.


 


Surviving is her husband of 32 years, Lawrence Smith; children, Kayce Thigpen of Manning, Amanda (Brandon) Brown of Lugoff, and Kevin (Logan) Smith of McBee. Grandchildren; Kason and River Thigpen, Olivia and Lucy Brown, and Sadie Smith. 


 


She is also survived by her sister, Debbie Hultgren; brothers, David Catoe, Mark (Vicki) Catoe; in-laws, Rudy and Betty Churchwell Smith; brothers-in-law, Rudy (Lynn) Smith and Mark (Liz) Smith; nieces and nephews; Wyatt (Sydney) Hammond,  Marjorie (Shawn) Chapman, Ryan (Kylie) Hultgren, Stefanie (Nick) Johnson, Matthew (Celia) Catoe, Wilson Catoe, Timothy Catoe, Lauren (Chris) Miller, Morgan (Wesley) Hoover, and Dalton Smith.


 


The family would like to give a special thank you to Preacher Scott Bernshausen, Morgan & Wesley Hoover, Dr. Gil, Dr. Huggins, and the care team at MUSC Kershaw for their loving care during the last few days of Lisa’s life. Thank you to all who have prayed and checked in over the past 12 days, the prayers have been felt during this difficult time.


 


A service to celebrate the life of Lisa, will be held on Sunday, October 12th, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethune Baptist Church with Preacher Scott Officiating. 


 


In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bethune Baptist Church Benevolence fund.
