CAMDEN- A funeral service for William Curtis "Bill" Jones, 98, will be held Monday at 3:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Quaker Cemetery. The Rev. Todd Horton will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2-3 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation or St. Jude Children's Hospital.

    Mr. Jones passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. Born in Kershaw, S.C., he was a son of the late Furman Kershaw and Mamie Elizabeth Jones. Mr. Jones was a WWII veteran having served in the US Navy. He was retired from DuPont with 32 years of service. Mr. Jones was a devout Christian and believed in God. He was a member of Wateree Baptist where he sang in the choir.  Mr. Jones loved life, his pets, and his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed reading his bible, playing his harmonica, gardening, going out to eat, and sitting on his front porch.

    Left to cherish his memory are his son, William Michael Jones (Pamela) of Camden; daughter Sherry Jones McConnaughhay (Billy) of Camden; granddaughter, Holley Renee Jones Sanders (Shane); a sister, Erma Jackson; and four great-grandsons, William Rembert "Trip" Sanders III, Austin Michael Sanders, William Michael Jones III and Owen Ashmore Jones. He was predeceased by a grandson, William Michael Jones, Jr.; and siblings, Juanita Petit, Lillian Ballentine, Beulah Sharp, Bertha Payne, Willene Jones; and a son-in-law Billy McConnaughhay.

     The family would like to thank Jquan Kiser for taking such good care of his "Old Man" and supporting the family through this difficult time. Also to his VA Primary Care Home Team, and Amedysis Hospice Team for their care and support.  He was a good father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  Our hearts will miss the good that was in this man.
