Marty Marino Coleman Obituary

Marty Marino Coleman, 64, of Columbia, SC, was born on July 31, 1961, in Columbia, SC, and passed away on September 27, 2025. Marty lived a life defined by service, dedication, and love.

He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and went on to a fulfilling career with American Airlines, retiring in 2014. His work was important to him, but his true joy was found in the moments spent with the people he loved most. Family was at the heart of Marty’s world. Whether gathered around the table, sharing laughter by the water, or exploring new destinations, he cherished every moment with those closest to him. He loved to travel and found joy in discovering new places, making memories that his loved ones will treasure. His favorite place to unwind was Lake Wylie, where he found peace, laughter, and lasting connections.

Marty is survived by his beloved mother, Maria Coleman; sisters, Julie Hodges (Mike), Debra Murphy, Cathy Zobel, and Christi Carrion (Jason); nieces and nephews who adored him, Stephen Hodges, Tyler Murphy (Anna), Austin Murphy (Megan), Bradley Barnhill, Emily Parobek (Jake), and Samantha Zobel; and great-nephews, Mason, Elliot, and Cole Hodges. He was predeceased by his father, Carl Coleman, and brothers-in-law, Donnie Murphy and Steve Zobel. He will be remembered not only for his service and accomplishments, but for his kindness, his steady presence, and the love he shared so generously. His legacy lives on in the stories, smiles, and memories of all who knew him.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff.  A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. in Fort Jackson National Cemetery, Columbia.
