James L. Blair Obituary

CASSATT- A funeral service for James Lynn Blair, 67, will be held Friday, October 3, 2025 at 10:30 am at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The Rev. G. Bernard Ponds will officiate. A public viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. 

     Mr. Blair passed away on September 25, 2025. Born in Bethune, he was a son of the late Woodrow and Ruth Canty Blair. Mr. Blair served 8 years in the U.S. Army and retired as a SSGT. He received many decorations and certificates during his time serving his country. Mr. Blair enjoyed going on walks, watching football, and spending time with his family.

    Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 37 years, Carolyn S. Davis Blair; daughters, Kimberly Crim of Camden, Terri Crim of Camden; son, Shon Crim (Denise) of Camden; a brother, Larry Blair of Columbia; a sister, Oralee Blair of Bethune; 10 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Antonia Crim; siblings, Rev. Janet "Pat" Johnson, Annie Patterson, George Blair, Woodrow Blair Charles Blair; a granddaughter, Tionese Hughes; and 2 great-grandchildren.
