Edna Farmer Crolley, 101, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and service that touched all who knew her.
Born on July 10, 1924, in Ninety-Six, South Carolina, Edna was the treasured daughter of the late Joseph Lee Farmer and Bonnie Lee Hampton. She was preceded in death by her parents, her devoted husband, Edward Franklin Crolley, three brothers, and a sister.
Edna graduated from Clinton High School and went on to pursue her passion for caring for others by attending Charity Hospital School of Nursing in New Orleans and Camden Hospital Nursing School. As a registered nurse at the Wood Clinic for Women, she was honored to assist in bringing countless babies into the world — a role she considered sacred and fulfilling.
Edna's life was full and vibrant. She had a determined spirit and a heart full of curiosity. She was an expert gardener, an avid reader, and a world traveler who found joy in new places and cultures. She also had a great love for dance; Edna especially enjoyed dancing with her dearest Edward. In addition, she also had a great love of Christmas that most could not match; she created many magical memories for her children and grandchildren throughout the years.
Her friendships were as deep and enduring as her family bonds. Edna was part of a cherished group of lifelong friends who called themselves The Golden Girls — women who laughed, supported, traveled, and celebrated together.
Her faith in God was an integral part of her character. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Edna exemplified Christlike service throughout her life. She was known for preparing and delivering meals to those in need and for caring deeply for her friends and family.
She is survived by her three loving children: Frankie Crolley (Marcy), Marion Crolley (JoAnn), and Carolyn Spivey (Mike), along with eight cherished grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren — all of whom brought her endless joy and pride.
Edna will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now joyfully reunited with her beloved Edward.
Her legacy of faith, love, and compassion lives on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
A graveside service for Edna will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Paul Crolley will conduct the service. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home.
