Richard Owens, of Westville, South Carolina, born on August 12, 1955 in Camden, South Carolina, passed away at the age of 70 on September 1, 2025. 

Richard, was an ardent supporter of South Carolina Gamecocks Football, and his enthusiasm for the game was infectious. Richard's love for watching old TV shows often transported him and those around him to simpler times, providing a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. He loved gardening which was a source of pride and joy. Richard's cats were his faithful companions, a constant source of comfort and amusement. As a widower, Richard showed immense strength and courage, creating a loving, nurturing environment for his family.

Richard is survived by his son Richard Lloyd Jr., and his daughter Rebecca Owens; two special extra children, Amanda Hardin and Britt Jennings;  extra grands; Kristin and Tyler Freeman; a sister, Kimberly Forrest (Roger);  an Aunt, Sandra Sims; a niece, Stephanie Colvin; a nephew, Mitchel Forrest (Brook); and a great nephew, Hudson Forrest. He was preceded in death by his wife Julie B. Owens; his father, Isaac Owens, and his mother, Barbara Reeves Owens. His legacy will continue to live on through his children and those whose lives he touched. 

A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025 at 10:00 am at Kershaw Cemetery 113 S. Hampton Street, Kershaw, SC.
