It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Junius Carl Lee, Jr., who left us on August 31, 2025. He was born on November 1, 1940, in Columbia, S.C. Carl spent his life in Camden, South Carolina, where he built a legacy of love, artistry, and craftsmanship.
Carl was a man of many talents and interests. He served in the Navy for 8 years, a period of his life he held in high esteem. He found great joy in building and construction work, creating structures that will continue to stand as a testament to his skill and dedication. Carl loved his church, he took pride in his roles as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher. His love for golf and fishing brought him closer to nature's tranquility, and he found solace and peace in these pursuits. But it was his passion for drawing that unveiled the depths of his soul. Through his artwork, Carl expressed the wonder he found in everyday life, capturing the beauty and complexity of the world around him. His talent to create was not only a hobby, but a gift he shared with all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Carl was a loving husband to his wife, Ellen Armenta Price Lee, whom he married on April 19, 1962. Also surviving are his son, David Allen Lee (Cindy) of Lexington; grandchildren, Brienna Johnson (Golden) and Dyanne Vaught (Justin); brother-in-law, Leo Cecil Price (Suzi); and sisters-in-law, Donna Mae Galloway and Shirley Price; and numerous nieces and nephews. Carl is preceded in death by his parents, Junius Sr. and Louise Lee; sister, Jacqueline James; and brothers-in-law, Joe Lewis Price (Pat), Reed Keller Price (Barbara), and Olin Daniel Price Sr.
