It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Teresa Louann Ivie Wheat, a devoted wife, loving mother, sister and cherished friend. Born in Lampasas, Texas, on March 14, 1953, Teresa's life was a canvas of love, creativity, and dedication that touched many lives. She was an exemplary woman who navigated life with grace and a spirit of giving, and her legacy will continue to inspire those who knew her.
Teresa was a graduate of Lampasas High School, where she was a member of the Lucky 13 Peppers. She later attended the University of Texas in Austin. After marrying her soulmate, Gary Wheat, on September 21, 1979, together they moved to Camden, South Carolina, where she made a beautiful home filled with love and laughter. A homemaker by choice, she was a woman of many talents. Her hobbies reflected her zeal for life - she found joy in reading, gardening, crafting, and traveling. Teresa also had a knack for solving puzzles and painting, creating beautiful pieces of art that were a reflection of her soul. Her strong faith in Christ was reflected in the life she lived.
Teresa is survived by her husband, Gary Tadd Wheat; daughters, Micah Wheat King (Trevor Campbell) of Camden and Garyn Marley Wheat (Jeremy Lynn) of Hartsville; sister, Charlotte Stack (James) of Camden; grandsons, Jackson King and Layne King; and her dog, Ivie "Iva". She was preceded in death by her parents, Lillian Irene Cude Ivie and Ernest Holten Ivie; and half-brother, Joel Switzer.
The family extends a special thanks to her caregiver, Brenda Warren whom Mrs. Teresa dearly loved.
As Emily Dickinson once wrote, "Unable are the loved to die, for love is immortality," and Teresa's love will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Services will be private.
