With heartfelt sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of Ted Crisp on August 27, 2025. Born on July 15, 1937, in Ward, West Virginia. He was a beloved father, a faithful parishioner of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Columbia, SC, and a cherished member of the Lugoff, South Carolina community, where he resided for many years.
Mr. Crisp married his late wife, Elizabeth Ann Crisp on April 4, 1974. Ted honorably served his country in the United States Navy for 22 years before being honorably discharged. Ted then devoted his time to serving others as a Supply Technician in the civil service until fully retiring in 2002. An avid gardener, hunter and fisherman, Ted found joy in the simple pleasures of life, cultivating beauty in his surroundings and enjoying the tranquility of nature.
Ted is survived by his children, Mark "Randy" Randall Crisp, John David Crisp and Michael Scott Crisp; stepchildren, Marguerite "Peggy" C. Mothershed (Robert), Carol A. McMahan (George C.) and JoAnne Rutherford; brother, David Crisp (Jean); sister, Loretta Ann Blevine (Cliff); numerous, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
In addition to his late wife, Elizabeth Ann Crisp, he was preceded in death by his father, Joel Crisp; his mother, Dalpha Crisp; stepson, Morgan E. Isaac III; two grandsons and sister, Mary Morris.
A mass honoring the life of Mr. Crisp will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at 12:00 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Columbia, SC. With burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia, SC where military honors will be rendered. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor at 1503 Michaels Road, Richmond, VA, 23229-4899.
